Book Summary(:

My "field of interest" was fashion. I want to be a fashion designer. I read two books on this topic. One called Fashionista a century of style icons, the other is 200 projects to get you into fashion design. The purpose of the first book is to take you through each decade and show you different fashions. It's to show you who was a popular fashion icon for that decade, and how that person influenced other people. The second book is to show you how you can get yourself into fashion, from start to finish.

Each of the books are easy to read, i think pretty much anybody could read them, but obviously you would want to have some interest in fashion if you were going to read them. Especially 200 projects to get you into fashion design. That book teaches you all different kinds of creative ways to start designing, one of the biggest things it tells is that you have to be able to find fashion in unique ways. Fashionista a century of style icons is a book that may be more interesting to people who are looking for a good story, clearly if you have no interest in fashion at all i would not recommend it, but if you like history, or fashion but aren't necessarily looking for a career in fashion, it could be interesting for you.

Before i started reading 200 projects to get you into fashion designing, i was interested in fashion, but i knew little about it. I mean, i knew what looked good to me, and what didn't, i have always loved putting together outfits, but i never really knew a good way to get started. When I got 200 projects to get you into fashion i figured it would help give me ideas of how to get started as a fashion designer, and it does. I really like the way that it goes about it too. It is simple, and fun, and its stuff that you don't really have to make time for, you can do a lot of it while you're out and about with your friends. It talks a lot about creativity. The only thing that I was disappointed about was that fact that it seemed kind of young, which is kind of good, because it's easy, but just like many instructional books, it talks to you like you're an idiot. All in all i would say that it is a pretty good book.

Before i started reading Fashionista a century of style icons I really knew nothing about the history of fashion. When I got this book i figured I would learn more about it. I was correct. It showed me about how different celebrities did different things for fashion and how many of those things are still used in fashion today. The only thing about it that I wish would have been different was that they would have done it more by the decade and sorted it less by the style. I really like all of the people that the chose to put in there and how they explained everything short, sweet, and to the point. It was very interesting.

After all of this I realized that I truly love fashion, but I am not exactly sure that I am cut out to be a designer. I would still love to do a job relating in fashion, but I wouldn't want to do the sewing and textile part of it. I know, these are probably things that I should have thought about before, but when I started this I thought that it would be worth it to have to go through that stuff and be in fashion. Then when I was researching all of this stuff I found different jobs that relate to fashion where i wouldn't have to do the sewing, and fabric part of it, and i would still be able to work with fashion and clothes.
